The terms and conditions that govern your use of Samvise.

Terms of Service

Welcome to Samvise. Samvise is operated by Inference Labs LLC, a Washington limited liability company located in Seattle, Washington, United States ("Samvise", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our task scheduling application and its chat assistant. By accessing or using Samvise, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Samvise is a task scheduling application that integrates with Google Calendar to help you manage and schedule your tasks. It has two parts, and these Terms govern both.

Automatic scheduling. A deterministic scheduler, which uses no AI model. It:

  • Analyzes your calendar availability
  • Suggests optimal times for task completion
  • Automatically schedules tasks in your Google Calendar
  • Proposes scheduled time blocks for you to review

The chat assistant. An assistant built on a third-party AI model, which answers questions about your schedule and carries out task and schedule changes you ask it to make. Section 5 governs the content it generates, and our Privacy Policy sets out what data is sent to the AI provider and on what terms.

2. Account Registration

To use Samvise, you must:

  • Create an account with a valid email address, or in the iOS app with Sign in with Apple
  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials, and of any Apple account you use to sign in
  • Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access to your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Google Calendar Integration

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, you grant us permission to access it using exactly two OAuth scopes, and no others:

  • calendar.readonly, to read events from the calendars synced on your account (your primary calendar to begin with, changeable at any time), so Samvise can detect your availability and prevent conflicts
  • calendar.app.created, to create and manage a dedicated "Samvise" calendar and the time blocks Samvise schedules on it. This scope cannot reach any other calendar or any event Samvise did not create

Our use of data received through these scopes is governed by our Privacy Policy, which sets out exactly which fields we store, how long we keep them, and the restrictions we accept under the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time in Samvise settings, or revoke access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting stops synchronization with that Google account. You can continue creating tasks and scheduling them in Samvise without a Google connection.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Samvise to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the rights of others
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Use the service for any automated or bulk data collection (scraping)
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
  • Use the service to spam, harass, or send unsolicited communications
  • Resell or redistribute the service without authorization

5. AI-Generated Content

Samvise's automatic scheduler is deterministic and uses no AI model. Its chat assistant does use one, to answer questions and to carry out task and schedule changes you ask for. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated suggestions are provided as recommendations only
  • You are responsible for reviewing and approving all scheduled tasks
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated recommendations
  • You should use your own judgment when accepting suggestions

6. Intellectual Property

Samvise and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your task data and content, and grant us a license to use it solely to provide the service.

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on Samvise infringes your copyright, please send a notice to our designated agent with the following information:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and its location
  • Your contact information (address, telephone number, email)
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

We will respond to valid DMCA notices by removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing content. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

7. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee that:

  • The service will be available at all times without interruption
  • The service will be error-free or secure from cyber attacks
  • Defects will be corrected immediately
  • Third-party integrations (such as Google Calendar) will always be available

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with or without notice.

8. Fees and Payment

Samvise offers free and paid subscription tiers. If you subscribe to a paid plan:

  • You agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen plan
  • Fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually)
  • Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel
  • We may change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers

iOS Subscriptions

Samvise Pro and Max are available through the App Store as monthly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions. The app shows the included benefits, billing period, and localized price before you confirm the purchase. Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm. Renewal is automatic unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the current period ends; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

Manage or cancel an Apple-billed subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. See Apple's cancellation instructions. Deleting the Samvise app or your Samvise account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Restore purchases from Settings > Billing while signed into your Samvise account.

The iOS app uses Apple's standard End User License Agreement in addition to these service terms.

8.1 Cancellation Policy

For an Apple-billed subscription, use Settings > Billing > Manage subscription in the Samvise iOS app or your Apple Account subscription settings. Upon cancellation:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period
  • You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
  • You retain access to paid features until the billing period ends
  • After the billing period ends, your account will revert to the free tier

8.2 Refund Policy

For purchases billed by Apple, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple evaluates those requests under its applicable terms and your consumer rights; Samvise cannot issue a refund through Apple's billing system. See Apple's refund instructions. The direct-purchase refund policy below does not promise an Apple refund or limit any rights you have under applicable law.

We want you to be satisfied with Samvise. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • First-time subscribers: If you are not satisfied within 14 days of your first paid subscription, you may request a full refund by contacting us at amolvikramsingh@gmail.com
  • Annual plans: Annual subscribers may request a prorated refund within 30 days of purchase if the service does not meet your expectations
  • Service issues: If you experience significant service disruptions or technical issues that prevent you from using paid features, contact us and we will work with you on appropriate credits or refunds
  • No refunds after billing period: Refunds are generally not provided for partial months or after your billing cycle has renewed, except as required by law

To request a refund, contact us at amolvikramsingh@gmail.com with your account email and reason for the refund request. We aim to process refund requests within 5-10 business days.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms of Service
  • You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Your account remains inactive for an extended period
  • We are required to do so by law

Upon termination, your right to access the service will immediately cease, and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT IT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the service
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of your data
  • Any interruption or cessation of the service
  • Any bugs, viruses, or harmful code transmitted through the service
  • Any errors or omissions in content or AI-generated recommendations
  • Any third-party content or conduct on the service

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Samvise, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a prominent notice in the application. Your continued use of Samvise after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the service.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington State, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Samvise regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements.
