Creating an Account
Getting started with Samvise is quick and straightforward. We support both email-based accounts and Google OAuth for secure, convenient authentication.
Sign Up Options
Google OAuth (Recommended)
The fastest way to get started. Sign up with your existing Google account in seconds, and optionally connect your Google Calendar during onboarding.
Email and Password
Create an account with your email address and a secure password. You can still connect Google Calendar later for scheduling features.
Sign Up Process
Using Google OAuth
- Visit the signup page - Go to samvise.io and click "Get Started"
- Continue with Google - Click the "Continue with Google" button
- Select your account - Choose which Google account to use
- Grant permissions - Allow Samvise to access your basic profile information
- Complete setup - You'll be redirected to your dashboard
Using Email and Password
- Visit the signup page - Go to samvise.io and click "Get Started"
- Enter your details - Provide your email address and create a secure password
- Verify your email - Check your inbox for a verification email
- Click the verification link - Confirm your email address
- Complete setup - You'll be redirected to your dashboard
Email Verification
If you sign up with email and password, you'll need to verify your email address:
- Check your inbox for an email from Samvise
- Click the verification link in the email
- If you don't see the email, check your spam folder
- The link expires after 24 hours - request a new one if needed
Initial Onboarding
After creating your account, you'll be guided through a quick setup:
Set Your Timezone
Samvise needs to know your timezone to schedule tasks at the right times. Select your timezone from the list, or let Samvise detect it automatically from your browser.
Create Your First Time Window
Time windows define when you want to work on different types of tasks. During onboarding, you'll create your first time window—typically something like "Work" (Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM) or "Personal" (evenings and weekends).
You can add more time windows later from your settings.
Connect Google Calendar (Optional)
If you signed up with Google OAuth, you can optionally connect your Google Calendar during onboarding. This allows Samvise to see when you're busy and avoid scheduling conflicts.
If you skip this step, you can always connect your calendar later from Settings.
What Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
For Google OAuth:
- Your email address (from Google)
- Your name and profile picture (optional)
- Basic profile information
For Email Signup:
- Your email address
- Your encrypted password
- Optional profile information you provide
We do not store your Google password. Authentication is handled securely through Google's OAuth system. For email accounts, passwords are hashed using industry-standard encryption.
Privacy and Security
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
- Row-Level Security ensures you can only access your own data
- OAuth tokens are securely encrypted
- We never share your data with third parties
Quick Tips for New Users
Start Simple - Don't try to set up everything at once. Create one time window and a few tasks to get familiar with the interface.
Connect Your Calendar - Even if you skip it during onboarding, connecting Google Calendar makes scheduling much more effective.
Try the Chat - The AI chat assistant is the fastest way to create tasks and get scheduling suggestions.
Set Realistic Estimates - When creating tasks, provide realistic time estimates. This helps the scheduler place tasks more effectively.
Use Priorities - Get comfortable with the Low / Medium / High priorities. They help Samvise understand what matters most.
