Configure email and in-app notifications

Notifications

Stay on top of your schedule with customizable notifications. Samvise can notify you by email and inside the app.

Notification Channels

Email — reminders and digests sent to your account email.

In-app — notifications appear in the app's notification center.

Turn each channel on or off independently in Settings > Notifications.

Notification Types

Each type can be toggled individually:

Task Reminders

  • An alert before a scheduled task begins
  • Lead time is configurable: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 1 day before

Due Today

  • A heads-up about tasks due today

Overdue Alerts

  • Reminders about tasks past their due date

Schedule Changes

  • Notification when your schedule is updated

Weekly Digest

  • A weekly summary of completed and upcoming work

Quiet Hours

Don't disturb during set times:

  1. Settings > Notifications > Quiet hours
  2. Toggle quiet hours on
  3. Set a start time (e.g., 10 PM) and end time (e.g., 8 AM)

During quiet hours, reminders are held rather than delivered.

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Emails

Check the channel toggle

  • Settings > Notifications — verify email notifications are on
  • Verify the specific notification type is enabled

Check your spam folder

  • Emails may be filtered as spam
  • Add the sender to your contacts and mark as "Not Spam"

Check quiet hours

  • Reminders are suppressed during quiet hours

Too Many Notifications

  • Disable notification types you don't need
  • Use quiet hours for sleep and focus time
  • Lengthen the reminder lead time so alerts arrive in one predictable window

Best Practices

  • Start conservative — enable only essential notifications, add more as needed
  • Use quiet hours — protect your sleep and focus time
  • Review occasionally — adjust settings as your workflow changes
