Chat Shortcuts

Useful phrases and keyboard shortcuts for the AI chat assistant

Chat Shortcuts

The AI chat assistant understands natural language — there's no special syntax to memorize. This page collects phrasings that work well, plus the keyboard shortcuts around chat.

Setting Task Details in One Message

Mention priority, due date, duration, and time window naturally, in any order:

"Create a high-priority task in my work window, due tomorrow, 2 hours, to finish the proposal"

This sets:

  • Priority: High
  • Time window: Work
  • Due: tomorrow
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Title: finish the proposal

Priority

  • "high priority" / "low priority" / "medium priority"
  • "urgent" reads as high priority

Time Window

  • "in my work window", "personal task"
  • If you don't mention one, your default time window is used

Duration

  • "30 minutes", "2 hours", "takes about an hour"

Due Dates

  • Relative: "today", "tomorrow", "Friday", "next Monday", "in 3 days", "end of month"
  • Specific: "Feb 15", "March 1st"

Task Management Commands

Creating Tasks

  • "Create task [title]"
  • "Add task to [action]"
  • "I need to [action]"

Editing Tasks

  • "Change [task] to high priority"
  • "Move [task]'s due date to tomorrow"
  • "Change [task]'s time window to personal"

Completing and Deleting

  • "Complete [task]" / "Mark [task] as done"
  • "Delete [task]" — deletions always ask for confirmation first

Recurring Tasks

  • "Create daily task to check email"
  • "Add weekly task every Friday to send report"
  • "Gym Mondays and Wednesdays at 7am for 8 weeks"

Searching and Filtering

  • "Show high-priority tasks"
  • "What's due this week?" / "List overdue tasks"
  • "What's unscheduled?" / "Which tasks have auto-scheduling off?"
  • "Show my work-window tasks due tomorrow"

Schedule Questions

  • "When am I free tomorrow?"
  • "What's on my schedule today?"
  • "When is [task] scheduled?"
  • "Do I have time for a 2h task this week?"

What-If Questions

Ask hypotheticals — the assistant simulates against your real schedule without changing anything:

  • "What if I push the report to Friday?"
  • "Would a new 3-hour task fit this week?"
  • "What if I dropped the design review?"

Bulk Operations

  • "Make all tasks due this week high priority"
  • "Delete these three tasks" — bulk deletions require explicit confirmation

Tips for Better Results

Be Specific

  • Good: "Create a high-priority task to review the Q1 budget by Friday, 2 hours"
  • Less clear: "Budget thing"

Use Consistent Names

Stick to the same window and project names you use in the app.

Review and Undo

Reversible actions run with an Undo button; destructive actions ask first. Review what happened — undoing is one click.
